Most of what that means is that on my good days I build worlds in my head then play with words to try and share those worlds with others. I'll be blogging some insights I've gained about the process, what has worked for me (and what has more disastrously not worked for me), and some resources that I've found helpful. I'll also be writing about some other things that I find interesting, including mental health, sports, and maybe even politics. You know, blog stuff.
I'm also a reader.
I know first hand how difficult it can be to find someone to read your work and help you see what is working, and what could be working better. You know all the reasons behind every word you've put on that page, and it sometimes takes an outside set of eyes to be able to see the way forward to your better work. I've also worked as an editor, and can help point out what just needs to be cleaned up. After staring at a manuscript for hours you develop a kind of page blindness, and you will read the half dozen typos in your first paragraphs and literally not even see them, then wonder why your sample pages keep getting turned down. From copyediting and developmental editing to reader reviews and blurbs, I'm here to help get more books from the conception stage to the shelf.
If you are looking for a freelance writer to turn your concept into copy, or a writer looking tighten or clean up your manuscript, drop me an email and we can discuss my rates.
